ERO DSP software is not yet signed or notarized by Apple. macOS therefore shows a warning the first time you open it: here is how to open it in a few steps.
01
Why this warning?
macOS includes Gatekeeper, which checks that software downloaded outside the App Store is signed by an identified developer and notarized by Apple. ERO DSP is an independent developer: its software does not (yet) go through this process.
The warning does not mean the software is damaged: macOS is simply saying it could not verify it. Only do this for files downloaded from ero-dsp.com (via the link received by email).
To check that your file is intact, compare its SHA-256 checksum with the one shown on the product page: shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/FileName.dmg
Installers (.dmg / .pkg), e.g. MaschineDawPlus or Autoriding
Double-click the downloaded .dmg file: it opens like a disk in the Finder.
Double-click the .pkg installer (e.g. “Install MaschineDawPlus.pkg”). Because it is not signed, macOS blocks it just like an app: close the warning (Done).
Open System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down to Security and click Open Anyway (available for about an hour after the attempt), then confirm with your password and click Open.
Follow the installer screens (introduction, license to accept, installation, summary). The app is installed in the Applications folder.
When you first open the installed app, if macOS shows a warning again, proceed as for an app. You can then eject the .dmg disk.
For a plug-in installed by a .pkg (Autoriding, for example), there is no need to copy it by hand: restart your music software so it detects it.
03
Apps (.app)
If the download contains the app directly (.zip file), unzip it, then drag the app into the Applications folder.
Double-click the app. macOS refuses to open it and shows a message: click Done.
Choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Privacy & Security in the sidebar.
Scroll down to the Security section: a message mentions the blocked app. Click Open Anyway. This button is available for about an hour after you try to open the app.
Confirm with your login password (or Touch ID), then click Open.
The app is now saved as an exception: from then on, a double-click is enough.
On macOS Sequoia (15) and later, the old Control-click > Open shortcut no longer bypasses this warning: use the System Settings method above. On macOS Sonoma (14) and earlier, you can also Control-click (or right-click) the app in the Finder, choose Open, then confirm.
04
Plug-ins (Audio Unit, VST3, AU MIDI FX)
Copy the plug-in to the right folder:
Audio Unit and AU MIDI FX (.component)~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
VST3 (.vst3)~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
The ~ symbol stands for your home folder. To install for all users of the Mac, use the equivalent folders in the main Library: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components and /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 (administrator password required).
The Library folder in your home folder is hidden: in the Finder, open the Go menu while holding down the Option (⌥) key, then choose Library.
Downloaded plug-ins are flagged as “quarantined” by macOS, and the host app often refuses to load them. Remove this flag with the Terminal method below.
Restart your music software and rescan your plug-ins. In Logic Pro, for example: Logic Pro > Settings > Plug-in Manager, select the plug-in, then Reset & Rescan Selection. Other hosts offer an equivalent option in their preferences.
05
Terminal method (apps and plug-ins)
If macOS says the software “is damaged and can’t be opened”, or if a plug-in does not appear, remove the quarantine attribute. Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities), then paste the matching command, adjusting the name:
Only use this command for files downloaded from ero-dsp.com whose checksum you have verified. It disables the macOS check for the specified item. Tip: type xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine followed by a space, then drag the file into the Terminal window to insert its path.

SilverBridge (MPC Studio driver)
SilverBridge is an open-source project distributed on GitHub. Installing it is different from installing an app or a plug-in: follow the instructions in the repository’s README file.
